The Wilyabrub sub-region of Margaret River is home to some of the world’s most sublime Cabernet based wines. Each component of the CEO Reserve is carefully chosen from the best parcels of fruit on the Thompson Estate vineyard to complement the natural elegance of our Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine develops further complexity from 18 months maturation in meticulously selected French oak barriques.

2011 CEO Reserve Cabernet Merlot by Thompson
The colour is deep crimson red with a purple edge. A complex display of fine fruit and rich dark berry characters such as blackcurrant, cassis, raspberry, and Christmas pudding are showing up front followed by an enticing, delicate array of aromas of violets, elegant spice and a subtle mint.
The wine is tightly structure and the fruit is complimented with a hint of toasty oak showing as a slight cinnamon and spice on the mid palate. The finish shows great length where the delightful flavours lingers on endlessly with a slight cooling sensation which adds to the persistent satisfaction.
